AUGUST 4TH WARD RELIEF SOCIETY NEWS

Our Ward family overnight campout in Wallsburg is scheduled for August 19-20.  The Relief Society assignment includes sign-up sheets and the coordination of the salads for the Friday night dinner. We would ask those who plan to go up there to sign up to bring a salad. Please avoid Jello as it is a tough one to keep from melting in our summer weather. Coolers would be a good choice for transport of any salad at this time of year. We also have been asked to submit one name of a designated ‘cleaner upper’ who will be staying overnight, and would be able to help with the dinner and breakfast clean up. We need to submit that name no later than August 12th . If you are planning to go, please indicate it on our sign-up sheet, as well as any availability for the other service requested.    We so appreciated all those who made themselves and their pantries available to help with the luncheon for Bud Nielson’s family after his funeral mid-July. It is truly an act of love and service to help comfort the bereaved. Most times there isn’t a lot of notice and we appreciate so many who are so willing. We especially thank Sister Shauna Smith and Sister Dorene Lynch for coordinating it so well.
Thanks to all those who helped clean the Jordan River Temple in July. It is a privilege to be able to be in the temple any time. Thanks, too, to those who volunteered for the welfare assignment at the Bishop’s Storehouse.
Our ward is sponsoring the multi-Stake Single Adult Activity for those 31+ on Saturday, August 20 at 6:30 pm. It will be a western-themed Dutch oven cookout. President Mitchell’s band will provide entertainment. Meet at the bowery for a rip-roaring good time!
Several among us have been experiencing poor health or medical procedures. We wish you all well as you are diagnosed, treated and mending. We appreciate your visiting teachers, neighbors and friends helping keep us aware.
Sister Joan Johnson seems to be adapting well to her new surroundings. She wanted to tell you all ‘hello’ and that she is thinking of you. She looks well and happy. She would love to have you visit if you can find time.
