For those who were able to get to the Heber Valley Retreat, we think you will agree that it was really a beautiful place to be! We enjoyed the fresh air, clear blue skies, and lots of visiting, as well as lots of good food and fun activities. The obstacle course was enjoyed by many participants, as well as many encouraging onlookers. Thanks to all who had anything to do with the advance preparations and production (especially Dorene and Barbara) and for Bishop & Marva Mathis (who brought up the equipment trailer), and Bishop Mathis, Brother Hainsworth, Brother Magnuson and Kyle Holdaway for cooking our breakfast on Saturday!! PLUS, all the help and assistance provided by those who went.
Our next Night Relief Society Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 14, at 6:30 pm. You can expect a wonderful and informative meeting.
The Stake Relief Society will be hosting a dinner at 4:30 pm prior to this year’s General Relief Society Meeting on Saturday, September 25. The broadcast will also be at the Stake Center at 6:00 pm. Plan to join with other sisters from our stake for this event.

Side-splitting gales of laughter broke out when Heather Marshall responded to her second challenge in the game “Curses.” Her first challenge was to try to “explain her way out of a speeding ticket.” Though we tried hard to follow her reasoning as she sped through a herd of sheep and killed some, we weren’t convinced she had been successful in convincing the cop of her innocence.
Indeed, when it was finally her turn again 20 minutes later she proved us right. Her second challenge was “tell your fellow inmates why you are in prison.” She said, “Well, I was speeding through a herd of sheep . . . killed a few.” You may have had to be there, but we were glad we were there at that moment, laughing so hard!

I warned you! Huh, Huh . . . Didn't I tell you not to miss July's journey?? That month brought us one of those rare treats and it was a truly rewarding experience. I know you are all trying to dig around and find out if you still have a copy of the July newsletter so you can refresh your memories on what book we did that month. . . .
"Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words." ---Jeremiah 18:2.
Our place of meeting was just as good as going to the "potter's house," because the potter was there . . . in the flesh! Our read for the month was Remembering Isaac: The Wise and Joyful Potter of Niederbipp. We received our presentation by the author himself, Ben Behunin. A million thanks to Camille Jensen for facilitating this captivating evening. We were inspired and motivated by his message and particularly intrigued with the "story behind the story" as he told of the experiences that led him to write this wonderful story.
You will recall that this was Book One of a series. Book Two, Discovering Isaac, is already out and Book Three is out this fall.
Well worth the read as we get closer to that time of year that finds us snuggled up with some good reads a little more often.
It was a great evening shared among friends . . .just remember, we are all in rotation on the potter's wheel.
