Obituary for Ellen Daniels from Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home

“I’ve gone to sit under my tree”

Mama was born May 7, 1947 in Nashua, NH, came into this world in the loving arms of her parents, Ted and Franny, and left this world in the loving arms of her children on February 7, 2011. Ellen graduated from Weber State in 1970. She married Daniel David Daniel, Jr. in the Salt Lake Temple in 1972; divorced. Ellen raised four beautiful children.

Ellen held many callings in the LDS Church, many teaching the wonderful youth from nursery through Young Women’s. After many illnesses, her body finally gave out and she went on vacation to sit under a tree and read a book.

Survived by her sons, Daniel (Denise), Charles (Tammie) and Timothy; daughter, Amy (Ben) Ekins; grandchildren: Daniel’s Children: Emma, Rachel, Caroline, Eliza and John Charles’ Children: Wilson and Harmonee; and Amy’s Children: Elizabeth and Sarah Ekins; sister, Colleen (Ron) Caldwell; brother, William (Gloria) Caughey; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother, Charles; grandparents; Aunt Louise; father, Theodore; and mother, Frances.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of IMC and South Davis Community Care Center, Dr. Douglas Newbold, Dr. Scott Chidester, and Dr. Donald Morris for all of their loving care and devotion.

Friends and family may call Friday evening, February 11, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary located at 4760 So. State Street.

Editors Note: Frances and Ted Caughey lived in our ward (Granger 13th)many years.  Ellen's Sister, Colleen Caldwell, just moved from our ward in January.  "The Plan" was for Ellen to join her son Tim at their new residence here in our ward.  We were looking forward to having Ellen back in our ward. We as neighbors, friends and ward members wish that could have happened.  We send our deepest condolences and love to her family.
