 Thursday, April 12 at 7pm in the Relief Society Room.
We will be discussing and doing some hands on learning in different aspects of emergency preparedness

NEW RELIEF SOCIETY GENERAL PRESIDENCY


A new Relief Society general presidency was announced at the Saturday afternoon session of the Church’s 182nd Annual General Conference April 7, 2012. Sister Linda K. Burton was called as the general president of the Relief Society, the Church’s organization for women. Sister Carole M. Stephens and Sister Linda S. Reeves will serve as first and second counselors. Sister Julie B. Beck, Sister Silvia H. Allred and Sister Barbara Thompson were released and received an expression of gratitude for their five years of leadership.

Erma Bethers Owen- Margie Mclaughlan's Mother Passed Away

Dear neighbors, friends and Whitehall Ward members.  We are saddened to let you know of the recent passing of Erma Bethers Owen - Mother of our Ward member Margie Mclaughlan
Obituary for Erma Bethers Owen
Erma Bethers Owen 1927~2012
Erma Jane Bethers Owen, 84, peacefully departed on April 3, 2012 surrounded by family. She was born on April 29, 1927 to Albert Francis Bethers and Almira Tiffany in Daniels, Utah. She married Leo Charles Owen on August 16, 1947 in Evanston, Wyoming. They were sealed together for all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 7, 1948. Erma was a beautiful wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great- grandmother. The very thing that mattered most to Erma was always her family. She was devoted to her family and spent her entire life surrounded by them. Her legacy is the gift of our family histories which will be cherished by future generations. Erma was passionate about her faith and she served in many callings throughout her life. She both worked and served at the Salt Lake Temple and Jordan River Temple for many years. She also loved camping, fishing and teaching her children how to fish and play cards. Erma is survived by her children Margie (Steve) McLaughlan, Vern (Kerrie) Owen, Rosemary (John) Hill, Barbara (Gene) Porter, Retha (John) Jeppson, 28 Grandchildren, 74 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, and her brother Howard (Doris) Bethers. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son Charles Albert Owen, Husband Leo Charles Owen, and 7 Sisters and Brothers. Friends may visit with family on Friday April 6, 2012 from 10-12:00pm at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 South 2200 West with funeral services for close family and friends following. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Road. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
