March Book Club
Dear Biblios,
February is an awfully short month. I find it difficult to believe that I am once again spreading text across the page of an email to send my submission for the newsletter. While I have been stumbling around in the Land of Oz, I think I must have succumbed to the spell of the poppy field a few too many times. I have learned of, or realized, many gaps in the peaks and valleys of my cerebrum during the last few months.
I must make huge amends for one of these 'sleepers' and beg forgiveness from Sue Marshall for a very unintentional, temporary brain fade. In my January Book Club article, I failed to thank Sue for giving us a terrific start to the holidays of last Christmas, when she gave her review of our November book, The Christmas Hope. We had a very good turnout that evening and we all really enjoyed a great time together to close our 2010 year. As late as it comes, Sue, please accept our many thanks for your efforts and sharing. I am grateful to all of you who help out in the many ways you do to make Book Club a success.
I do have a way of getting myself in hot water! That lesson of life seems constantly to evade me. As you know, the timing of my last article allowed me to report on the wonderful evening we had with Bill's presentation of Les Miserables, so I will say no more. However, before you get too comfortable, we are still in the early part of the year and have a whole lot of great times ahead.
March will be no different and should bring a smile of recognition for a well-loved, inspiring author. We will be moved and captivated with the incredibly fascinating read of the family who asked . . . and answered, ultimately at great cost . . . the age old question, "If not us,...who; if not now,...when?"
Please join us to get reacquainted with the Ten Boom family and their extraordinary show of courage as Barbara Stott brings us the masterpiece of The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. This author’s spiritual beauty resonates throughout the story with a purity of heart we can all aspire to as she relates the saga of her Dutch family in Nazi-
occupied Denmark. Corrie Ten Boom's life itself is an extension of the Ten Boom family’s profound strength and faith. It will be an evening well spent among friends. . . see you in the hiding place, it could change your life.

February's Relief Society Activity Night (Sorry it's soooo late)
The Relief Society Presidency had our Relief Society room decorated in a Valentines Day theme. We got to snack on our table decorations while we had a presentation on Menu planning. Those in attendance played some games that would be great for FHE.
Menu Planning Made Easy was the topic of our activity night. Dorene Lynch prepared a slide show for those in attendance on how to use "My Pyramid". By clicking on "Menu Planning", you'll be taken to the government web page where you can do many things. You can create a Personalized Plan if you're interested in weight loss. There is a link for Pre-schoolers, Kids 6-11 years, Teens, and Adults to help plan healthy meals. There are coloring pages that you can print out and use for a FHE on "healthy eating habits". How about free receipes ? The receipes are there, so check it out!!! There are even cute videos for all ages that you can enjoy. So, check out the web page. If for no other reason, your tax dollars are being used (editoral comment).

Previous Ward Member - Ellen C Daniel Obituary
Obituary for Ellen Daniels from Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home
“I’ve gone to sit under my tree”
Mama was born May 7, 1947 in Nashua, NH, came into this world in the loving arms of her parents, Ted and Franny, and left this world in the loving arms of her children on February 7, 2011. Ellen graduated from Weber State in 1970. She married Daniel David Daniel, Jr. in the Salt Lake Temple in 1972; divorced. Ellen raised four beautiful children.
Ellen held many callings in the LDS Church, many teaching the wonderful youth from nursery through Young Women’s. After many illnesses, her body finally gave out and she went on vacation to sit under a tree and read a book.
Survived by her sons, Daniel (Denise), Charles (Tammie) and Timothy; daughter, Amy (Ben) Ekins; grandchildren: Daniel’s Children: Emma, Rachel, Caroline, Eliza and John Charles’ Children: Wilson and Harmonee; and Amy’s Children: Elizabeth and Sarah Ekins; sister, Colleen (Ron) Caldwell; brother, William (Gloria) Caughey; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brother, Charles; grandparents; Aunt Louise; father, Theodore; and mother, Frances.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of IMC and South Davis Community Care Center, Dr. Douglas Newbold, Dr. Scott Chidester, and Dr. Donald Morris for all of their loving care and devotion.
Friends and family may call Friday evening, February 11, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary located at 4760 So. State Street.
Editors Note: Frances and Ted Caughey lived in our ward (Granger 13th)many years. Ellen's Sister, Colleen Caldwell, just moved from our ward in January. "The Plan" was for Ellen to join her son Tim at their new residence here in our ward. We were looking forward to having Ellen back in our ward. We as neighbors, friends and ward members wish that could have happened. We send our deepest condolences and love to her family.

JANUARY RELIEF SOCIETY NEWS FROM OUR WARD NEWSLETTER
We would like to give extra special appreciation to Sister Kay Neeley for her Special Christmas Lesson. We enjoyed her messages and the gifts she worked so hard to prepare for us.
Remember, our next activity is January 11, 2011Vat 7:00 PM. So, mark your calendars. The spotlight will be on ‘YOU.’ We will be passing around a sign up sheet for your special talents. It will be a fun evening, so be sure to plan on coming.
Also, remember to complete your visiting teaching. It is easier when done earlier in the month. Please make sure that you report your visiting teaching to your supervisors in a timely manner.
We hope that all of you enjoyed the Holidays with your families.
If you are aware of any information that would be helpful to the Relief Society President, please give Sister Pam Magnuson a call at 801-968-6506.

Our Condolences to LeAnn Larson Rosenlof - Obituary of Paul Larson - (Former 13th Ward Member)
Paul Wood Larson 1939 ~ 2011 Paul Wood Larson, born in American Fork, Utah on February 16, 1939, second son and fourth child of Leona Wood and Earl Larson, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home in American Fork on the lovely sunny morning of January 7, 2011, attended by his family. Paul is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon, children, Jeff (Robyn), Shane (Genevieve), LeAnn (Criss), Taylor, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Survived also by sisters May Motsinger, Wanda (John) Bonnett and brother Leroy (Eloise) Larson. Paul was the original "cock-eyed optimist". He loved life; he loved every day of his work as a building materials salesman. He greeted each day with enthusiasm for his work and his network of friends. If you were a friend of Paul's, you were a friend of his friends. Paul will be sorely missed by his family, his extended family, his friends and those fortunate enough to know him. Funeral services were held Tuesday January 11, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the American Fork 4th Ward, 455 East 300 North. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery. Online condolences and memories may be sent at andersonmortuary.com
