I have decided to discontinue posting on this blogspot for several reasons.  Just a few being that: Very few if any use it as a resource for ward information; many don't use the internet and have never seen this;  and it is no longer practical.  

I will leave it open but no longer will post.

Second Event- ShredFest

Set the date. Annual Shredfest on Thursday May 11, 2016. This year's shredding will take place at The Maverik Center in West Valley City. From 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to shred any papers or computer hard drives that contain personal information.

RESTRICTIONS:

PAST WARD MEMBER CLARA KEHL PASSES AWAY

Clara Ann Murray Kehl

Apr 10, 1943 - Dec 13, 2016

Clara returned to her Heavenly Father on December 13, 2016 at the age of 73. She was born on April 10, 1943 to James P. and Dorothy Helder Murray in Bremerton, Washington and as a child moved to Utah, which is where she spent the rest of her life. Clara married Roger L. Kehl in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 6, 1969.

Clara’s smile was infectious and she greeted everyone she met with that smile and left them a feeling that they were the most important person in the world. Clara created lifelong friendships with many people who she loved dearly and who in turn loved her. These friends always watched out for their dear Clara when health challenges slowed her down. Despite Clara’s struggles with a variety of health problems, she never complained or felt sorry for herself. She faced each new setback in her life with that infectious smile, her radiant eyes, and a determination to persevere no matter the difficulty. As important her spirit and attitude were, her family will forever be grateful to the countless number of health care specialists who treated Clara for the past 20 years and gave her both a quantity and quality of life that could be considered nothing short of a miracle.

The last 47 years of her life were spent hand in hand with her eternal companion, Roger, who she cherished. Whenever Roger’s name was mentioned, her eyes would sparkle and an expression of love would arise that transcended words. Roger was there for the good times, of which there were many, and the difficult times. He spent countless days and nights at her hospital bedside demonstrating a love that is worthy of eternity.

Clara loved her children and grandchildren. She would do anything for them and they knew it. Each of her children has precious memories with their mom and each of her grandchildren with their grandma. They are blessed to inherit her legacy of living with faith and optimism. Clara’s love for family went hand-in-hand with her love of the Savior and His Gospel. Clara loved serving in the Jordan River Temple and knew that, through the temple, we can return to our Heavenly Father and be with our families forever, which was her ultimate goal.

Clara is survived by her husband; her children: Chad (Melanie) Kehl, Julie (Matt) Thayne, and Tim (Lindsay) Kehl; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Jim and Jean.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley Park 3rd Ward building located at 2603 West 4700 South in Taylorsville, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Homes, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville and at the church building on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.

I have been asked by Bishop Hill to announce the passing of Sister Wilma Baker today.  We are saddened to hear of Wilma's passing and we send our condolences and support to her family.   

The viewing will be this Saturday, Dec. 17th from 10:00-12:00 am at the Whitehall Ward. The funeral will then follow from 12:00-1:00.

Our Condolences to Ward Member Bev Taylor and the Family of JOHNNIE TAYLOR JR.

JOHNNIE TAYLOR JR.

1940 ~ 2016

Was taken to his Heavenly Home on August 1^st2016. The ONLY child of Johnnie Taylor Sr. & Frances Bustamante was born in 1940 in Denver, CO, but raised by loving foster grandparents Jero & Elizabeth Reynolds in Bennion, UT from age 8.  He attended Cyprus & then when it was built, Granger High Schools & BYU.  He served an East Central States Mission from ‘61-‘63, then the Army called & he went to Hawaii with the U.S. Army 25^th Infantry from ’63-’65 where he boxed.  He married Beverley Beagley in February 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.                                                                                         He was the “tough” kid in school, but later on John was a faithful home teacher, Elder’s Quorum & High Priest Quorum counselor.  He loved to talk to people about the gospel.  He was a very humble & obedient servant of the Lord with tremendous faith & testimony. He was always smiling & willing & ready to help others. His life was spent as an avid jogger/walker, weight lifter, biker, & sports enthusiast his whole life! Ask his boys! He also loved dancing, singing, yard work & the grandchildren! We’ll never forget his sense of humor! He was employed @ Magna’s Kennecott’s Arthur Concentrator on the Roll Floor. His friends will miss his jokes, sweet smile & the hours of service he lovingly gave although he struggled with dementia for many years & finally Alzheimer’s.

Survived by wife, Bev; sons, Corey (Heather) Taylor, Midvale, UT, Travis (Kim) Taylor, Bluffdale, UT, and Cody (Mandi) Taylor, WVC, UT; grandchildren, Matthew Allen, Heather (Koby) Young, Chris (Kaleigh)Taylor, Carly Coley, Brandi (Tyson) Herbert, Truitt (Chandra) Wallis, Jared, Chance, Aubrey, Gavin, Nils, Jor’El, Robyn & Cannon Taylor; great grandchildren, Koda Young, Talan & Jax Wallis, Carmen & Lauren Coley and Conner & Sage Herbert.

Preceded in death by infant son, Jeremy Kay Taylor (stillborn 1977); foster grandparents, Jero & Elizabeth Reynolds; parents, Frances & Johnnie Taylor Sr.; foster brother, Charles Fisher & Joyce.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Whitehall Ward, 3150 West Whitehall Avenue (3985 So.)  WVC, UT. Viewings will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S. Magna, UT, and Saturday 11-11:45 at the church. Eva Margot Cutchen

July 28, 1929 - July 22, 2016

Eva Margot Cutchen 1929 - 2016 Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016 surrounded by her family. Margot was born July 28, 1929 in Breslau, Silesia. She had a great love for life and for her family. She was extremely proud of her European heritage. While growing up she lived through the atrocity of World War II. This arduous time shaped the rest of her life. Shortly after World War II she met the love of her life, William J. Cutchen. After immigrating to the United States they were married July 19, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. 

Margot had a great fondness of music, her favorite callings in church revolved around this love. She relished her time as a chorister in primary and sacrament meeting.
She enjoyed some of the finer things in life. She took great pride in her immaculate yard and how she presented herself to others.
Margot will be remembered for the great love and devotion she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. There is nothing that she wouldn't do for them. She loved them unconditionally and found great joy spending time with them. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to see her grandchildren be baptized.
She is survived by three children, Dale (Erin), Cheryl (Robert) Curtis, Alan (Julie); three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held Monday August 1, 2016 10:30 AM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr. SLC

August R.S. Activity-August 11th, 2016, 7:00 p.m.

   We will be making a Pot Holder Purse Caddy for your personal use (buy a large rectangular hot pad that has a loop).  Who doesn’t need a little caddy to hold all those random purse items like band-aids, sunscreen, bobby pins, pain relievers, antibacterial wipes, a couple of tissues, dental picks, safety pins, nail clippers, a file etc.  You can fill it with whatever you want.   You can also make a mini caddy for children by using a smaller hot pad.  Great for overnighters at grandma’s or a friend’s house. The contents are held by sewing in snack size baggies which the R.S. will provide.  We are also asking for ladies who would be willing to bring their portable sewing machines.
