Sharen Olson's viewing will be at McDougal's on Redwood Road Sunday night (December 28th) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Her viewing on Monday (December 29th) will be at the Stake House on Peachwood from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Her funeral will be at the Stake House at 11 a.m.

Double Mint Brownies
1 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
½ cup cocoa
½ teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
1 ½ cups flour
2 cups sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
Melt butter and stir in cocoa. Cool. Beat eggs, gradually add sugar a little at a time. Add mint and vanilla and chocolate mixture. Stir together the flour, salt, and soda. Add to creamed mixture. Pour into 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes, till wooden pick comes out clean. Frost or add broken candy canes.

Kay Williams’ Frosted Banana Bars
1 cup butter, softened
3 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 cups sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped (optional)
2 (16-oz) containers cream cheese frosting
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. When smooth, add eggs, one at a time while beating. Then stir in sour cream and vanilla. Combine and stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Finally, add in mashed bananas and nuts. Spread evenly in large jelly roll or cookie pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Bake for 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees, or until toothpic inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow bars to cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting.

Put 1 large (16 oz) package Corn Pops in large container.
Boil to firm ball:
1 tablespoon corn syrup
½ cup water
4 cubes real butter
2 ½ cups sugar
Pour over Corn Pops, add 1 ½ cups mixed nuts while adding syrup to Corn Pops. Mix well with wooden spoon, spread on cookie sheets sprayed with Pam. Let cool.

Sister Olson
My dear ward members,
It is with great sadness that I must tell you that Sharen Olson died peacefully in her sleep this morning. She had a massive heart attack Sunday night, never to awaken again. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with her and her family this morning as they try to find some comfort this Christmas Season. Please keep them in your prayers. Funeral plans will be announced at Church on Sunday morning.

New Sunday Meeting Schedule
In 2009 our Sunday meeting times will change to the 11am – 2pm schedule. The wards in our stake will all have sacrament meeting first. Our sacrament meeting will be at 11am, primary and Sunday school at 12:20pm, and YW, Presthood, and Relief Society will be at 1:10pm.
